CMYK

  • CMYK represents Cyan, Magenta, Yellow and Black. and it is an subtractive color model. 
  • In the print industry, cyan, magenta, yellow and black are used as the primary colors.

  • The "K" in CMYK stands for key because in four-color printing, cyan, magenta and yellow printing plates are carefully keyed, or aligned, with the key of the black key plate.
  • If you look at a printed page with a magnifying glass you might see something like the illustration below.
